RTI has been involved in projects small, mid-size and large for the residential, university, non-profit, government, commercial and historical markets.  Our team provides seasoned experience in all phases and all levels of Development, Program and Construction Management through our in-house resources and a network of independent consultants.  Our goal is ensuring that property evaluation, estimates, VE studies, constructability reports, schedule and cost reports and all other work products that are required are generated as useful tools to the project team.  RTI has proven over and over to be a valued asset to our clients.

 

RTI Consulting, Inc. furnishes project management, design, engineering, pre-construction and construction management services, along with staff extension services to agencies and firms.  Our services include project leadership, design services, project feasibility reviews, constructability analysis, project forensics, long term and short term scheduling, estimating, cost control and budget management, document control, contract administration, agency and utility coordination, along with environmental impact studies and project claims support.  Our primary business focus is service thus we have established relationships with other licensed architects, engineers, construction managers,  inspection firms and contract/claims specialists.  We are a certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE), located in Los Angeles, California and provide personal, cost effective and dependable construction to public and private sector clients in Southern California, Nevada and Arizona.  We have either led or assisted as a design consultant and/or construction manager for the City of Culver City, The Canadian Consulate General, Las Virgenes Water District, Pepperdine University, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, KCS West and the H.B. Drollinger Company. Our firm in addition to the design & construction management role has provided estimating, scheduling, forensics, remediation consulting, cost control and document control services for various projects which range in volume from $10,000 to $320,000,000. We have performed LEED application reviews/analysis, set up programs with Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, Las Virgenes Water District and Southern California Edison.  Our teams’ unique blend of experience and strengths, including our approach to the process from concept to completion brings added value to your project ensuring efficient and smooth execution.  RTI staff involved in the Pre Construction Phase of our projects will be involved in the project through completion avoiding and breakdown in the flow of information.  The attention to detail that our team provides allows us to forsee issues with constructability, cost and schedule.  Our team provides quality control with a complete understanding of the client’s, consultants’ and end user’s expectations.  This thorough understanding of the project scope from its conception also leaves less opportunity for cost impacts to the project.  The team’s use of management software and scheduling programs allows for an efficient and timely flow of information.  Our field staff works closely with contractors to look for ways to constantly improve the schedule.  Constant communication and scheduling coordination is a large part of the teams focus.  The field staff’s constant communication with the contractors will allow our team to address issues that arise in a timely manner with little impact on the project.  Our experience in planning involves extensive logistics planning and will insure that every project is a success.

General Approach

We formulate a responsibility matrix so that lines of communication are known and information flows in an orderly and productive manner.  Multiple projects can be easily managed as our Program/Senior Project Manager will work quickly to make sure that our team members are clear on the project requirements, their individual tasks and specific project responsibilities.  Master construction schedules can be created to monitor multiple projects and assure focus is directed as needed.  Our team’s unique blend of experience and strengths, including our approach to the process from concept to completion ensures efficient and smooth execution from project identification through construction completion.  Key staff assigned in the development and pre-construction phase of the projects will be involved in varying degrees through completion in order to avoid a disruption in the flow of critical project information.  The attention to detail that our team provides initially allows us to foresee issues with constructability, cost and schedule prior to reaching the construction phase.  We work very diligently throughout the project to ensure that all team members (ours, the designers, the contractors, the client) have common goals and a complete understanding of the project expectations.  This thorough understanding of the project parameters from conception through completion provides the client with the opportunity to reduce cost impacts to the project.

TECHNICAL APPROACH

 

Planning Phase
